Physical properties

Molybdenum carbide has the characteristics of high melting point and hardness, good thermal stability and mechanical stability, and excellent corrosion resistance. Can be used as a coating material, can also be used as an additive material, in addition, it is usually used in particle reinforced alloys. Molybdenum carbide has the electronic structure and catalytic characteristics similar to noble metals, and has the catalytic activity of hydrogen denitrification, hydrogenolysis and isomerization reactions. Molybdenum carbide is similar to platinum group precious metals in many respects, especially its hydrogenation activity is comparable to precious metals such as Pt and Pd, and is expected to become a substitute for precious metals.
